Stonewool Insulboard


Description

Stonewool Insulboard is a resin bonded Stonewool rigid and semi-rigid slabs. Available; plain or faced with reinforced kraft/aluminium foil, tissue or woven glass cloth.

Application

Thermal and acoustic insulation in a wide range of applications from domestic Stonewool - Semi-Rigid and Rigid Boards appliances and structural uses to industrial applications. Particularly suitable for insulation of flat or slightly curved surfaces.

Operating Temperature

Can be used at continuous operating temperatures of up to 850°C. Faced felt - limiting temperature of outer facing is 50°C.

Fire Performance

  • Non-combustible - Tested to SABS 0177 Part V.
  • Class I Fire Index - Tested to SABS 0177 Part 111.

Permanence

Rot-proof, odourless, does not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria. Will not settle under vibration and is dimensionally stable under varying conditions of temperature and humidity.

Biosolubility

The IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer), part of the world health organization, has classified Stonewool as a group 3 product - not classifiable as to carcinogenicity to humans. The fibres from Isover Stonewool products are bio-soluble and will dissolve in lung fluid and pass through the body naturally.

Chloride Content

Contains inherently low levels of water-leachable chlorides, typically less than 5ppm and thus will neither cause nor promote corrosion.
